I'm sorry, but minivans are just not cool

All kidding aside. And this statement may make me seem uncool but we’re on our 8th Honda Odyssey since 2002. Even with grown young adult kids whenever the 5 of us need to go somewhere (plus my mother in law )sometimes it’s better than taking two cars or having them try to squeeze into a 3 row suv.

among all of them this 2023 with 10speed transmission 280hp and paddle shifters and manual sport mode even the boys think it’s not that uncool.

Kind of a proud Dad/car moment here.

Middle son (21) has been busting his a$$ working to get one of these since they came out in 2020.

2023 Explorer ST 3.0L Twin Turbo.

He had to wait 4 months for them to make and install a recall part for the rear camera.

Free delivery right to the house this morning. The dealership is owned by my youngest sons friends Dad so we had a good connection. Delivered with 6.6 miles on it.

That’s funny. It wasn’t stuck on it was just placed there by the delivery guy for the picture. It kept sliding off anyway due to the ceramic coating.

As you might recall when we talked It came with a ceramic coating/interior package which also has a 7 year warranty that I helped negotiate off the price of the car for him 😉

Not a car but this guy and his son pulled into the parking lot at the local farm today. Then within a few seconds he put it in reverse and then pulled away.

Maybe got nervous when he saw me approaching taking pictures cause I was going to go over and check it out.

Looked like a reproduction kind of thing as opposed to something restored but still pretty cool.

Interesting for sure. Although I question wether or not the MPG rating on the types of cars in question has any effect on their sales. Could just be the manufacturers trying to play nice with the EPA.

That guy is annoying but he redeemed himself a bit at the end with "If you buy a sports car with an automatic you deserve to suffer. At least a little bit".

I think what also gets lost is the fact that companies have to spend money to develop a manual transmission version of their car. And they just dont want to spend the money for 1% of the sales....Excluding something like a mustang or camaro which is a v8, front engine/rwd....ok, you can use an existing T-56....But think about the new corvette...mid engine layout. A manual trans would be a complete, separate engineering project to design and they just dont feel its worth the investment.

this thing was super clean and chunky and it had a 5.8? Badge on the side. Clearly modified with something special under the hood.
