DC Hotel Recommendation

The Rosewood was expensive but it was really awesome. Located in/near Georgetown, it’s on the canal tons of food and shopping

Shit... sorry... should have mentioned that I am poor
So poor that I ride a Walmart bike...

Watergate. Stayed there a few years ago, but that was because my wife's friend's husband is (was?) the executive chef and e was doing a birthday party for her. Bike friendly I guess, I brought my CX bike for a race the next day.

Last time I was in DC was with my wife and her parents. We stayed just across the river in Alexandria, and it was a super short and easy metro ride. There are also city bikes and a paved bike path connecting Alexandria to DC. They took the metro and I rode a bike, which worked out very well.

Watch out for parking fees. When I stay there for work they often charge $50 a day to park.

Last time I was there I stayed in woodley park so I could do post work rides in rock creek park. I had no idea they change traffic directions at certain times to help with traffic and all of a sudden I had two lanes of traffic bearing down at me going the “wrong” way. I though the world had gone crazy.

I was literally in DC this weekend. Stayed at the Holiday Inn on 6th street. A block from the Smithsonian, and a short distance to everything else. Room wasn't fancy but it was clean and had what we needed. A bar with a basic food menu in the lobby as well as a Starbucks. And its own parking garage.

100% want to get a place with parking unless you take the train in. A mistake you only make once.

Can confirm.

I second that, did the same but stayed in Arlington. Used Citi Bikes or whatever they have over there to go everywhere, it's flat as a pancake, unfortunately the closest bike station to our hotel was at the Georgetown Campus...the only climb in miles.

Not sure which weekend but we like the Residence suites at Foggy Bottom. They even have twin queen suites with a full couch to sleep 6 to a room. Also have a full kitchen is nice if staying for more than a weekend.
