Car-spotting thread

What did you go with for radio/trim? Mine's a 2009 so not in the years covered with this factory kit, at least at this point.

Just used crutchfield, and a few internet vids.
Relocated the climate controls to the lower pod, then toss out the CD holder, and it is a nice double din space.
Then there is a bezel to trim it all to the edges.
Also adding video in (std def) and two USB ports to one of the blank switch pods.
Also, also, back-up camera.

Who listens to music when you drive a Porsche? Exhaust is all the sound you need. Looking forward to Carson's twin turbo postings.

I mostly don't but having Waze via Android Auto would be very nice on occasion. And I've done some longer highway drives where putting on a podcast is definitely more enjoyable than just listening to the engine sitting at 3k rpm.

What's the rough price tag on this? AFAF (Larry 😁)

head unit/amp/speakers (4) /harness adapters/power wires/interconnect wires was about $1000.

Dash kit is available on amazon. Lots of videos - check Help Me DIY on youtube.

Could do it w/o replacing the amp - the speakers tend to dry rot, so they gotta be replaced.

After this dude man stopped in the middle of the turning lane almost getting rear ended. Then when the full light went green he jetted into the lane that went straight and cut off all the cars turning the opposite way. Guesss he doesn’t like that car too much. Douche.

My buddy Mike brought his Boxster Spyder by for a ride exchange. Fun was had. My 13yo daughter is in love with Boxsters (she thinks I'm going to buy her one) and enjoyed following the 360 around. I enjoyed the sound and view from behind. So cool.

The Spyder is remarkably stiff for an open car. In Sport Plus, the rev-matched downshifts were glorious. If I'm honest, it didn't break the threshold of "I would spend my own money on this" but it was pretty sweet regardless. A friend of Mike who lives around the corner was also over and told me I really need to check out the Cayman S he just picked up. Yes, please. Car nerd detail: dude's dad owns an F40 and his custom ordered 812 just hit the States. They put red F40 fabric on the 812 seats and lower dash. Siiiiick.

GF purchased a CPO Acura TLX with 9100 miles. Decon wash, clay, polish. Ceramic gets applied this weekend.

I test drove one a few days ago. I was really liking it until I noticed the humps on either side of the hood from the drivers seat. That odd flare up and drop off. Once I saw them I couldn’t stop seeing them.
WTF? There is a bike resting on the back of the Porsche?
It’s not resting, it’s hanging. He screwed hooks into the back of the wing.
