Coffee

Aeropress is great. And I use mine all the time. But if you have a couple more minutes a regular pour over is also a good option.

A mokapot is really good too for pre ride/race rocket fuel. I’m not sure if it’s in my head or not but when I use mine the caffeine buzz is intensified.
I have no problem with the extra minutes at home using pour over. In the office and travel trailer trips, looking for quick and less clean up method. Keurig in the office would work, but looking for more flavor.

Clever coffee maker is what I am using at home right now. When I travel I bring the Aeropress. Aero is the best work option for you.

Tropical Weather from Onyx in Bentonville is probably the best coffee I have found in the country right now.

Was about to ask for advise on something that combines a pour-over w/ the simplicity of a regular coffee maker and I think that Clever gets pretty close.

Just wish it was glass.

In the mornings I don't want to be a slave to constantly adding hot water to the pour-over.

French press in the morning for multiple cups, pour over (Hario ceramic/V60 filters) when working, our for one cup at a time.

Soto makes a neat stainless folding pour over if you are looking for super compact.

It's been remarkably consistent. Glass would almost certainly shatter at some point. Biggest downside is that you can't properly clean the innards so it becomes off-white rather rapidly.

French press. Tried an Aeropress for a while, decided that it was a major PITA in the long run.

Won't use Keurig/Green Mountain Coffee for anything since they moved their IT support to India, costing a ton of local jobs.

Peet's French Roast is my current brew, occasionally Major Dickason's blend.

Bialetti when I'm not using the Super AutoMagic
Will go on a camping stove or fire.
Won't work with microwave water.

Clean it? That is patina!

If you don't clean your coffee pot extremely well, you cannot possibly make good coffee. Just not possible.
I start shaking when I see someone with a regular drip coffee maker fill the coffee pot with water to fill the reservoir.

@Norm or anyone else that has a strong opinion.

How many grams of coffee per 4oz cup of water for a pour over?

@taylor185 is close but I prefer mine about 20% stronger. I’m more like 22g per 300g of water.

That said and as mentioned above, we’re both using Clever right now. I think that changes it a bit.

But I did break out the Aeropress you gave me today as it works a bit better for strongly roasted beans. For me.
