Bike rack 4-6 bike?

What are you guys using for a multi bike hauler. I have a Toyota Sienna and Sequoia both with 2" hitches. Looking for something to haul 4-6 bikes and "possibly" fold/swing out of the way.

Velocirax, 7 bikes a little under $1k

I got the Quikrak [quikrstuff.com] last year with 4 trays and its great but 4 trays (max) sticks out a lot. Luckily I only use 1 tray most of the time unless its a family vacation.
If 4-6 is going to be the majority of hauling then a vertical rack may ease some anxiety of an idiot behind you going to hit your bikes and rack. The Velocirax looks great. Also Yakima has a vertical one now from what I see (I vaguely recall one of the big rack mfd’s buying a smaller company that was putting out a good vertical rack - Yakima might be it).

Velocirax is nice, but heavy and a bit awkward to handle. We had Thule 4 place but as you mentioned, it sticks out far, so we got the 4 place Velocirax. I replaced the square tubing with longer one to create more space between bikes which has worked well and overall width is a smidge less than the Jeep. Our go to rack is the 1Up, when it's just the 2 of us. I hope that helped.

If you are on a OK with a 4-bike max and the design using a frame cradle and wheel trays, there's the Saris Freedom for a reasonably priced option. It does stick out pretty far in-use like the Thule mentioned, but folds up pretty tight when unloaded. Mine is actually up for sale on FB marketplace, not because any problem with the rack, but I switched from an Xterra to a Ridgeline and haven't used it since the car swap. Now the bikes just ride in the bed with a tailgate pad, can fit all 5 family member's bikes with room for gear.

I like the idea of the vertical "north shore" style racks, but they all seem pretty expensive for what they are. Guess I'm just a cheapskate.
