Car-spotting thread

Picture dump from the last few days.

That’s my buddy’s G wagon I should have snapped a pic with his bright green gravel bike in the back it looks sharp.

Short ride after yard work all day this afternoon and it seems there might have been some kind of wannabe Fast and Furious club party.

Then went to drop off son at Longhorns To meet his buddies and saw this clean Z28 and this sweet looking/sounding Chevelle SS.

The owner came out as I was dropping off I told him sweet ride. He proceeded to goose it a few times when he started it up it was sooo nice and chunky had to be at least a 396 in there. Then as he was exiting the parking lot he turned slowly into the main road and then smoked it all the way thru 2nd gear (manual trans) since he saw me taking some pics. Of course some traffic blocked my shots of him leaving. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I had that exact Z28. I wound up painting it black and installing a 383. I miss that thing.

So I found some great pictures of the Shelby Daytona that is at the simeone museum (CSX2287) as it was being built. This is of course the first one, which Pete Brock, Ken Miles built themselves...mostly in shelbys shop by hand.
This is a site dedicated to Dave Macdonald who raced the CSX2287 Daytona, later died in a huge accident at the Indy 500

This is also a really cool interview with Pete Brock about the whole timeline of the Daytona. As an engineer, I really appreciate this story. Nobody other than Ken Miles had any confidence that this would work...Even Phil Remington...The airplane designer Benny Howard came to see it and told shelby there was no chance it would work....So he and Ken Miles really had to be confident in his idea...And if not for a rock into the oil cooler near the end of the 65 Lemans, this car would have won the overall beating the ferrari prototypes (it still won the GT class)

something about that body style I really like for some reason even if i dont like the rear window louvers.

i do much prefer the older Camaros/Z28s though and the 69 Chevelle SS 454 is one of my childhood dream cars.

I think you mean 427 in '69, 454 came out in '70.
