Glen Park Fall Sender Enduro 10/10/21

But what if Mia makes it for ripping it?!
I think was her first time at Glen, she was behind me probably annoyed that I was holding her back. I dropped into this chute (which is ten times steeper than the video portrays) I stop at the bottom and see her look at it for 10 seconds, walk back a few feet, then went for it. Nailed it. Couple seconds later @WickedSistahEast east comes sliding in on her ass lol.

Ya that is totally lost in this video...you CANNOT walk down that hill without falling, its too steep. Its in the rhododendrons...so its that dense black soil thats really slick.... When we were there on sunday a few members of the trail crew were doing some work on the line, so we got off and walked as to not mess up what they was trying to fix....Right on our asses.

Isn't the initial part of the climb next to the powerlines nearly unrideable? Maybe I was looking at the wrong route when I was there.

So when we were there on sunday, seemed quite obvious this steep DH from the meat report will be in the race again.....was also used in the ESC race......Lets hope we all stay out of any other videos from this spot 🙂

whoever shot the blair witch project had steadier hands

You mean what they are now using as the transfer? The first leg is steep-ish, but perfectly rideable.....

I sent a message to Pocono Bike Club but was hoping for a timely response. Has anyone raced here before? I'm wondering if there are go arounds for any jumps or drops, especially being that it might rain. I feel like there are only a handful of people on here that send features, and I am not one of them.

I can’t think of any drops/jumps you couldn’t go around… don’t overthink it, ride in your comfort zone and have fun. You will have to ride the chute in that video tho…..or slide down on your ass 😆.

I don't represent the Pocono Bike Club anymore but built a lot of the trails and organized numerous enduro races there. All the features should have go arounds (check them out on preride). The previously mentioned chute is one to practice beforehand. I personally wouldn't include it in a MASS enduro.

Once in that chute do all your braking before it gets steep. You'll need to come left about 3/4 of the way down and if you are heavy on the brakes you won't be able to steer. Keep your eyes on the exit at the bottom and there is no harm in walking/sliding down it. You'll be at the end of the stage anyways so just run with your bike and chip out.

Preride? lol. Once and done for me. Goal is to finish.

As a heads up, can someone point out the location of the steep chute?

It's almost the very bottom of the run. Entry is moderately steep into a blind right-hand turn. They have a bunch of tape blocking a 4 ft drop-off. Also, you will know you are there when you hit the stand of rhododendrons.

My son and I are heading up this afternoon. Should be there around 3:30. Hope to get stages 2, 3 & 4 and maybe some bits of other stuff.

I watched this guy’s vids of each stage of the 2019 mass enduro which cannot be too much different. Makes me feel way more comfortable knowing that it really isn’t technical and most is higher speed singletrack. Guess I’m going to rei to get some mtb shoes to wear instead of my running shoes.

When i got injured and sold my dh bike, i also donated my 5.10 impacts and that has now bitten me in the butt.
