Enve 60/40 and i9 torch suggestions...

Latest bike came with a set of ENVE 60/40s laced to DT 350’s. I never even noticed differences in hubs till riding these and I have never hated a hub more (this is coming from hope pro 4s and i9 torch wheelsets).

My i9 rims are pretty trashed... could I take the torch hubs and stick them in the Enves? I9 has some pretty specific spokes and the Enves apparently don’t use nipples and everything pulls through the rim which is totally new to me. Are the two even compatible?

My other thought is I could repair my I9 wheels as is and probably sell the ENVE wheelset for around a G so what is the smartest move? Thoughts?

The I9s will swap over with no issues. The Enves use nipples, they're just innies instead of outies.
Dude I was so confused... I noticed a slight wobble and went to check spokes and no nipples 🤯

so should I build a sick Enve i9 wheelset or just dump the ENVES and milk the moneys?

What's not to like about dt 350 hubs they spin smooth and last longer between service than any other hub I've had and can easily upgrade poe with star ratchet kit .

Zero engagement dude they fucking blow on the slow tech. No joke, rode them on a tech trail in Mahlon - couldn’t clear shit...wanted to sell bike. Put Hope pro4s on and rode the same trail next day cleared everything. I went back to the Hope/Flow combo today after a bad experience yesterday and it is like a completely different bike.

You could try the 36T star ratchet for 10 degrees engagement (Hopes have 8 degrees I believe). The 54T will get you 6.6 degrees.

It's an easy swap and not terribly expensive.

Could also be the extremely stiff enve rims that make it hard to cary speed through the tech . I just switched my dt hub back to 18t and feel I can carry speed better through tech and my legs seem to get less tired idk maybe I'm just weird

I believe 350 comes stock with 18T, which is 20 deg engagement. Funny how I felt exactly the same but in reverse when I went from Hope Pro 4 to 350, it felt like the Hopes were no even spinning. But again, my Hopes were killed (?!?!) after a few rides, had to replace the bearings pretty soon even with my sparse riding frequency, maybe I got a bad set.
