Greetings Union County MTB Community,

Things are moving forward rapidly! We now have a plan to manage volunteers and trail maintenance days. JORBA will be submitting paperwork in the coming days to become an official Union County "Adopt-a-Park" volunteer group, and will assist each of you in becoming individual volunteers under our group. We anticipate putting out the call for volunteers towards the end of January. Are you considering becoming a JORBA member? www.join.jorba.org is the link. Members are covered under our insurance policy for their work on volunteer days and reap many other benefits.

In the meantime, the core crew will be working closely with park staff to develop a plan of attack, flag trail and rough cut. We will be working with the paid park staff, and all who wish to volunteer will complete a county volunteer package/waiver and a JORBA waiver. Once we get rolling there will be lots of opportunities to get out in the woods, as in weekly or more. More to come as we get closer to our first big day.

How can you help us between now and the grand opening?

- First and foremost, DO NOT RIDE WATCHUNG!!! No biking will be permitted until the trail is finished. Once it is finished....we need to help educate the biking masses; riding on hiking or equestrian trails is not cool! Our trail will be awesome, keep off the other trails.

- Be an ambassador of our sport. Promote responsible trail riding!

- Monitor this list and other JORBA/Union social media and get involved with trail work. Email union@jorba.org if you need info or have a question.

Thank you all for your patience and positive attitudes. We still have a long road ahead of us. Continue to preach positive interactions and responsibility, and we will continue to advocate for you. If all goes well I look forward to sharing a ride with you in Union County in 2017 on legal, purpose-built and volunteer maintained bicycle trails.

Have a wonderful weekend and holiday season!

Happy trails,

Ken Seebeck
