Any of the welders/other metal workers here have any solution for testing nickel?
I have some solid (not plated) material in an instrument from the late 1800s. Typical materials would be silver (it's not) or nickel/silver plated brass (also not).
I am 99% sure that it is nickel (slight green oxide haze), but want to be sure to match. Of course, Amazon is an option, but trying to save over something I'm going to use infrequently, if ever again.
