Petition for Northern Valley Cyclist and Ped Path
This petition is to gain support for conducting a study to examine
the feasibility of replacing a portion of CSX’s unused Northern Branch
train line (the section from Tenafly to Closter) with a cycling and pedestrian path.
This would be fantastic.
If this becomes a reality,
you could ride a collection of multiuse paths from Englewood, NJ to Haverstraw, NY (~25 miles)
with maybe about 3 miles of road connecting them.
The paths are also within striking distance of almost all local trail options.
