MTB Pedals 2021 best choice?

I use only one part on my bike that is made by shimano. Pedals. XTR Trail. I have tried others but I always come back. The newest versions are in fact notably better than prior versions.

Pour one out for those running old Speedplay dirt pedals. Those cleats are NLA. I think I bought the last ones Halter's had for a teammate.

I actually have an old set of speedplay pedals but no cleats. Anybody interested?
 
why is more float better?

someone stated that somewhere in here.

got it - reduced stress for those that need it.

a good fitting might reduce the need for more float too.
Seems the stroke is more efficient when in-line, but mtb is more fluid, so lots to think about (or overthink about ;))
 
I see the word ‘float’ used a lot for bike parts but I’m not sure how that works. I may have a floater bike and not knowing:shrug:
