I need to change the stroke of an X2 shock from 60mm to 65mm. I know that it needs to be opened up and have the spacer removed to let it have the full 65mm stroke. But it looks like you need some specific fixtures from fox to hold the shock in the vice. Has anyone done this without those fox tools?

No need for anything special. Just make sure the vice is clamping onto the shock with spacers in the eyelet to prevent clamping onto the actual shock so as not to damage it.
After that, it’s a matter of 1st removing all of the air from the shock & then removing retaining clip with a pick. Then remove can and spacer.

Pretty easy to get the spacer out to increase travel to 65mm once I got my hands on the. 2 clamp fixture. Got this cheap knock off tool from ebay
