Sunday I made the journey to Kingston, NY (exit 19 on the thru way) to race the Hurley Mtn mtb race. This is part of the NY State series.
I recommend that more people check this out next year. It was a small event that had a really nice vibe. The course was a lot of fun. roots, rocks, tight singletrack, and enough log piles to keep you on your toes. Climbing existed but was not excessive.
The event started on time, had electronic scoring (instant results), lots of schwagg, cliff bars, etc, an entertaining MC, and bike wash.
As long as the schedule permits, I'll be checking out more NYS races.
