Philly Bike Expo today.

Rode down and got to Philly at like 12:30. Talked to everyone and stopped by every booth. Ate Tacos. Got OTSO swag for riding the Warakin down. Found a feed bag with donuts to match my JPaks bag.

Staying in Chinatown tonight and had dinner at Monster Vegan.

I’m tired from walking around too much.

Took the longer way back home being I didn’t need to make it to the show today. Stopped by Tricycle Cafe on the (Shulykill?) One of our customers just bought and re-opened it so I wanted to check it out.

Cut across to Bristol to jump on the canal for the rest of the trip. Just pedaling the bike.

Recovery Day Monday with some foam roller and stretchy poop.

Today was a quasi recovery day with a light workout from Art. Except for the planks. Fuck planks.

And I received what will hopefully be the tire that saves my life. Not available in the US so I had to wait almost a month to get them from EEEEEEEngland. So they’re TYRES and not TIRES. There’s like 10mm of tread depth and a claimed 10,000 mile wear rating so it’s basically a run flat 😂

Did they hire you as a destruction tester or is that just a side bonus?
 
how do you go to sleep after you drink a Celsius? If I have one in the morning before a sunrise ride, im still jittery in the afternoon. It's like crack in my system. Good for me during a ride, feel great and can go pretty hard, but a huge problem for post ride peezy, i come home and im ready to organize the silverware by weight and shit

Caffeine works for several hours So if you drink it a couple hours before the ride it should still do its thing for you. And then wear off sooner.
 
Commute without getting a flat!!?? I rode the Allez wheels on Elphie today and it’s super weird. It feels too twitchy with little tires so I’ll put the other wheels back on before the 1st Brevet. Just wanted to try the tires and see if they actually rode like garden hoses filled with concrete, which they surprisingly don’t.

Also still the best looking bike ever made 🥰

Last few days have been days.

Hit 6-Mile Friday before work figuring the storm will wipe it out for a while.

Rainy Saturday so hit a virtual session at the track. Rode Tempo except for 1 hard effort to go off the front and get a lap up on the group. It’s basically the only move is endurance folk have against the sprinters 😂

This morning I did a quick confirmation on my zones with the short FTP Test. I was actually 5 watts low so my Z3 is a little tiny bithigher than I thought, but yeah, 275-295 is Tempo all day which we already knew.

Then I rode the Milano ITT just to get an hour and change in. Course is super cool. Reminder to myself to not use Competition Mode in Bkool because it disables ERG on the trainer, which is a must have with the Track Bike…

Now I have to chip away at increasing my 5-Minute power before Track Season starts. Not really sure how to do that so I need to ask some people.
 
Another “Track Day” Monday. My computer died before the end so I lost the file but it doesn’t really matter.

Commute on the Allez. Swapped the flat-proof wheels on to see if the bike is still rideable and not stiff as a board. I think it’s OK and I’m most likely using this bike for Saturday’s Brevet.

Then gym work after dinner. Art has me doing 5-days but Tuesday and Thursday are actual work and the other 3 are like stretching and light core and easy stuff. Even the heavier days are pretty easy at about 70% being 2 hours are on the bike.
