Chimney Rock Conditions

Heard from another very reliable source that all the trails are like streams
will be some time before it's ready, I'll probably bring a hand saw and hike from the Hawk watch side as I think most of the work has been on the lower sections

saw a fat Ti bike this morning crossing over to Newmans lot, almost stopped to ask about conditions and some shaming, but my kids were in the car. Clearing trails can also be a good workout.

Sounds like it blows up there. We just postponed our trip north until Friday to avoid the latest (and hopefully last) nor'easter

Hiked it today. Worse conditions ever. Two weeks minimum.

But You said 2 weeks a week ago Turkish.

More hiking today. Saw a HT going into Yellow. Dude on an E bike had ridden all of Red and said conditions are "Horrible". Seemed very wet in places that are not normally the wettest.1.5 of 4

Decided to stick with a road ride just to play it safe. With temps creeping up and no snow predicted, I’m optimistic about next weekend

I would rate it a 3-
After Monday's ride I would avoid Blue all together.
Lots of mud at the top of Newman's climb.
Over your tire and rim kind of mud puddlles.
Outer red and the upper connector is good.
Avoid he middle trail on red.
Yellow and orange are good.
Avoid the middle shute and go up granola.
I didn't go down yellow trail down hill to the four way, that's usually pretty wet and yucky. Give it a try.
Didn't ride white at all.
Nor behind the ball field and the new trail off the parking lot on Gilbride.

Soft spots! lots of soft spots. But they are drying out.
Didn't ride lower blue - i see a few people did, so i suspect it is close.

While looking at someone's ride, i did find this airplane floating in the reservoir.....that is one tough geocache right there....

Just got back too! AWESOME! amazing how good it is. Thanks to all that did trail work there, and there was plenty.

Kudos to the guys that lent out a helmet for one of our guys that left his at home.
