Brewery news

While I plan for a mostly Dry January, thought I would put this here for discussion. It has gotten out of hand with strollers and dogs at my local brewery. It was really a problem at the smaller, original location, but now that they've opened up the 2nd larger location, not as bad...

Thoughts?

Really depends on the place, I couldn’t stand bringing my kids to a small cramped place but Readington brewery has games and a jungle gym for kids, with lots of room to run around so I’ll bring the brood there and meet up with other parent friends. It beats having to guest prep my house.

Yes, they definitely encourage parents to bring kids. Plus, excellent hop farm. Not sure they allow dogs but if you want to see a lot of dogs go to Lone Eagle.

So I never took my kids to a brewery when young cause responsibility but if you got a designated driver
But ultimately my thoughts are get a sitter leave the tots at home and go have fun

Right on! Who takes their kids to a brewery?
Holy shit, go to Vermont in the summer and nearly every brewery or beer hall is inundated with families, strollers, dogs, emasculated men carrying around babies in their Baby Bjorns, etc. To use a phrase my son coined, "A perfect storm of horribleness". And to think, my wife and I always got a sitter the few times we went out because we didn't want to be "those people" with the screaming kids while everyone else was trying to eat or have a quiet night out. Apparently, like dogs, people now think the rest of the world must believe their kids are as adorable as they think they are. They're not. Its the overall culture now, everyone likes to sit on their social media high horse and say the right thing, but actually don't give a rats ass about anyone else's time, consideration, or space.

Used to be (1960s) that local bars had dining booths proximal to the bar, where families would eat. An example would be the now defunct Sloatsburg Inn in New York State.

I never bring mine... 🥸

I have always said they seem to encourage families to come, at least most of the ones I go to. I get it if it's too small for the crowd, but if it was that small, I wouldn't go either.

Conclave, Readington, Sunken. locally.
Hill Farmstead, kids may have out numbered parents...

I don't understand why anyone would want to bring their kids to a brewery or bar in the first place. It's not like bar food is actually good. And don't get me started with the dogs everywhere. I absolutely love dogs more than people but keep them home. This is why I drink alone in my barn. Get off my lawn.

Breweries and bars are nowhere near the same level..... Completely different in my opinion.
