Is this thing over ? This has been fun just to come here and see what other folks are doing and the crazy rides people are capable of. Guess I am probably getting the unofficial award for the most road rides logged on a MTB club forum contest. 🤪

Today’s plan was just to roll easy and meet up with some long lost riding friends cause planning a metric tmw. Started off chilly even at 9am but the sun was nice and warm.

Glad I checked over the bike last night found a chunk of tire missing on the rear one but then again those tires had too many miles anyway. Swapped it out for a used but like new spare I had so i didn’t miss out riding today.

Bonus score found this mini socket set on a quiet road 1/2 mile from my house spread out across about a 2 car length spot on the road. Spent 5 minutes trying to grab all the bits but it was tricky without my damn glasses on. This makes like the 10th I have found tools in working condition during a ride usually it’s a multi tool.

Congrats to all the winners looking forward to breaking out the TimberJack for a real trail ride after I’m done training for my Rando event in April 24.

ITSO VER!

I had no idea this was over until I read the board, back home. Thank God and @SNOW FAK3 that this is over... @Johnny Utah posted early on that "not participating" (is the greatest gift that one could give oneself.) Tru dat. Now I can do whatever I want tomorrow. Except during the Sunday team call at 10am. Hopefully, we will be more than 2 hours into the woods by that time.

One last picture of the baby of the family, doe I thought @w_b picture just above of the squids was the best shot of the year. And, yes, they will be fighting for the rest of their lives, just a little less.

Allaire was soooooo nice this afternoon. I spent the morning sleeping late and working on the taxes. Negative feedback from two of the involved parties so far today. Sunny, warm, dryish, a MILLION kids. Saw no one in the entire Hog Bog, doe. Took it easy to celebrate RUTGERS victory over the game chucking Clemsoning Tiggers.

Trails were 3.2/4 up high-didn't ride by the river and bailed on white around the airfield when the first (and usually worst) stream crossing was a bog. I have never seen as many family groups with A LOT of kids hiking by the lean-tos and teepees in the planted white pines by the GSP.

Filets on the grill with a beer, Napa cab and the NCAAs on da screen to celebrate the vanquishment of @SLIKRICK. Terps>Huskies. Miss all you guys, even @rick81721 Don't forget the send me the 9x12. Maybe if you toss him $20, he will autograph it for me? They say he needs the money.

I haven't ridden way out to the end of what I refer to as the Schooley's mountain ridge since last Autumn. I had the time and great weather to head out to Anthony and Point Mountain. At the end of the ridge you can either drop down about a mile onto the Port Murray side <Rt. 57> or about a mile down to the Califon <Rt. 513> side.
Then I dropped down Bunnyvale to 513 and went over to Vorhees State Park. I headed towards home over Hoffman's Crossing and along the South Branch Raritan River to Califon, and up through the Frog Hollow.

I tooled around at bit at the end to get the time past the 3 hour mark.

Legs were feeling sluggish from yesterday so did a mellow ride and checked the status of the local trails. Some green starting to pop.

Thanks @stb222 for making this happen - and to those who kept me going. I have not stepped in a gym nor run since this started...spending my mornings pedaling rather than running. Perhaps I'll stay with the new routine and cancel my gym membership.

Instead of loading up the truck and driving to a destination park to ride I decided to spend what could be a couple hours of driving by sleeping in instead. That is a pretty rare occurance for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While it may seem a bit counterintuitive I actually don’t like sleeping in. Anyway, had to keep my time out reasonable so I took a chance that the local dirt was dry enough and lucky for me it was. When I got back my son was itching to get out on his bike so made it into an encore. We were hopping to see a couple of his friends at the park but instead we saw everyone else that lives within a few miles, it seems. The place was packed!

I would like to echo previous comments in thanking @stb222 for keeping the books this year! BIYF is always fun and motivating during a time of the year that can otherwise be a bummer if you’re into riding bikes.

Peace

What a great day to end this thing with a proper send off. Nice flat -ish metric century to spend a decent amount of time steady pedaling instead of too much up and down hills today. Worked out very well just a little bit more windy than anticipated.

Pretty much landed exactly at 62.3 at my house but I did an extra few blocks to make sure Garmin and strava don’t steal any miles.

Thanks to @stb222 for running and organizing this I totally added extra miles to many of my rides when I was coming up short of the extra .5

Congrats to all the big mile/ time riders winners for setting the bar high.

When’s the BIYF celebration ride?? Maybe I will actually bring my MTB 🤪
