Are there any beaches that let you ride on them in the off season? I've heard conflicting rules.

Not sandy hook. But I think people had success on the public beaches south of that area
This^ Lots of rocks, sand, remnants of old structures, flotsam/jetsam. Important however that you time it for low tide. Some sections impassable otherwise.

I ride OC beach often, in season or off. During the summer I generally get my rides in before 9:00 to avoid the beach crowd. The time I had a problem was a night ride as I was going by the music pier. Cop had just kicked a bunch of partying teens off the beach and asked me to stay clear of that area for the night.
The water level is still low from the work on the dams. They've started refilling, and while we have a bunch of rain, the res is not spring fed, so the pumps are running.

Can someone post this loop? I think a circ is on the horizon. Should be faster than the Kayak 😂
We started at Wolfs Pond Park and did some of the dirt trails there in addition to the beach. You can also park at Conference Park to the west. Small bit of road to get around Lemon Creek.
