2018 H2H Point Peter Pounder (Port Jervis)

FWIW - I did the long lap today between storms and it was :42 would totally expect the winning Pro time to be :35 or <. All cat 1 should be doing 3 long laps this is not nationals it's grass roots. If I had to travel more than 15 min. there is no way in hell I would go for an 1:20 race. Sorry H2H I think your obsession with short times is loosing you riders.

Can you describe the terrain? Ive never ridden that area. Is there a lot of vegetation, rocks, roots? How are the rocks? sharp, round? What’s the elevation gain per lap? Is it rolling, punchy, longer climbs? Thanks in advance.

Overlooked Jeremy’s post above. Looks like a good short course. Any insight on key features obstacles to be aware of are appreciated.

So is the start at the flagpole? If so, where are you parking the car?

Despite the recent rain, the trails are in really good condition. Those who have ridden here who that the Watershed Park drains super well. The rain in the forecast has been reduced although we are still expecting some showers so we are hopeful that each and every one of you shows up for the final race of A.C Daughty Security H2H Race Series.

Parking. If you use the address of 1 Skyline Drive, Port Jervis NY, 12271 you will run into a parking attendant. We are parking everyone on the right side of the road as close to the start/finish as possible. When you leave, you may drive forward to the barricade where we have a safe place to turn around. We are asking that you do not make a “K” turn when you leave.

Day of Registration. You may register day-of if needed. The cost is an additional $15 above pre-reg cost. You will also need to purchase a day of USAC license at registration for $10 unless you hold an annual license. Cash is preferred. Make sure you register 20 minutes prior to the start of your category.

If you have any questions that have not been answered on our bikereg page, feel free to ask. If you would like to share your photos and stay informed with our future events….please like our StarCrawf Facebook Page.

Lastly, mark your calendar for the 2018 Erie 80 Mountain Bike Festival. It’s our premier event and showcases most of the trails in the Watershed. Then we’ll top that fun off with food, beer, and a concert! Be there on October 14th! https://www.bikereg.com/39075

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Remember to have fun and be courteous to other riders. If you see an Outdoor Club of Port Jervis member, give them a high five. They built this park by hand.

It's at a min. 85% single track in the woods so very little vegetation. There are a fair amount of rocks mostly shale so can be sharp the course uses some of the smoother trails in the park though. 500' per lap so not much climbing but very little flat. I would consider it rolling.

Thanks for the description. I’m excited about the race and glad to hear about conditions.

No recap. Family emergency at 3am (Bob), for those that know. Emergency room visit, he's back home now. I am extremely bummed.
