Yudicky Farm
Yudicky Farm is a small trail system on the very southwest corner of Nashua, NH. I took a shot with this park in the summer of 2023 when I was up here for a work trip, and was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was. I liked it enough that I came back in the summer of the following year.
This is not a destination park. All told, you can probably get 12-15 miles here but you would quite literally need to ride everything, including the janky, unmaintained stuff across the street.
But it would be a great stop on the way to somewhere else. And if you're in the area, it is a great place to visit.
Getting There/Parking
Nashua, NH is just across the MA/NH state line, northwest of Boston. It it quite literally across the state line, just about .5 miles from the MA border.
There are 2 primary places to park. I would recommend the large area close to the dog park, not the one off 111A.
General Ride/Trail Notes
I ride this loop CCW, as the Strava links show. It can probably be done reverse, but it feels like everything is built to be done primarily in the CCW direction.
Trail notes:
- There are several spots that have a More/Less option. Always take the More option. There is a Hard/Easy split as well. The Hard isn't really that hard.
- Development Trail: as best I can tell, this was probably the first trail here that was a loop around the park. As time went on, they added pieces here & there to make it what it is today.
- Ermine Loop: Nothing of note here but this is a generally standard New England pine tree section
- Inchworm to Barbed Wire to Windigo are back-to-back-to-back trails that all have the same feel. They are generally flat, sweeping trails with features built here and there. Some big rocks to ride over, most of them built up in some way. This is a fun set of trails you can cruise through and enjoy.
- Creepy Teepee: starts to go up the hill a bit, and has fewer roots. You should take this all the way to the end and NOT get sidetracked with Teepee Topper. There are some jumps at the end.
- Teepee Topper can be ridden from the end of Creepy Teepee, which leaves you sort of at the end of Creepy Teepee and you can do those jumps again.
- Stargazer should be ridden both ways. Take it out to the end, opting for the "more" option. At the end, turn back and ride it in reverse. Then you can take the "less" option back to the car.
- Across the street was pretty much garbage as best I could see. It's not technical so much as it's rotting, half-assembled features that were probably once interesting but currently sit in a state of disrepair.
Routes
The 2023 ride is the early morning, 1-hour version. The 2024 ride is more comprehensive.
Trip Planner
This trail system, as far as I can tell, is a bit of an island in terms of trip plans. It's probably best to use this as a stop on the way somewhere. I've ridden this 2x in the last year+ due to the fact I have work clients in the area. So I make it work.
This might be a good stop on the way to Highland, or if you're trucking up to Maine, or North Conway, etc. Or, if you're like me, and happen to be in the area for other reasons, this is a very cool little park that is worth checking out.
But it is not a destination.
Food & Drink
I haven't spent much time here, as my riding has been quick in-and-out hits of the park. The town center of Nashua is about 6 miles away, and with a population of over 90,000 people, you should be able to find what you need here.
I can suggest these 2 places not too far away in Lowell, MA, however:
- Nibbana Cafe - really, really good coffee shop with excellent pour-over and excellent espresso
- 1981 Ramen Bar - it's ramen, so...
