All amazing advice, but yea... this most of all. My biggest (see my beer belly) problem lies right here, My old coach used to joke about seeing overweight races talking about shedding grams on the bike while carrying an extra 10-15 in the mid section.


Will be buying new rubber this season, have a solid dropper and will look into the Sram NX, but otherwise I'll run what I brung till I hit the lottery and can afford a Pro Caliber[/QUOTE]

@mattsrabbit I'd probably hold off on upgrades honestly. Wheels would probably be the only noticeable upgrade, but since they're QR, likely won't work on future bike without adapters... and adapters suck. Not sure drivetrain would make it any faster, but I guess if you need more gearing or just want some fancy parts, it would likely be able to move to a new frame. Same with brakes, though you may need to swap out the hose to a longer one depending on how it's routed on your new FS. Ride what ya brung. I think I'll be racing SS next year for lulz.
