Wtb: 8 speed shifter

Anyone have an 8 speed Shimano shifter in a bin? Putting together a donor bike which has an RSX derailleur with shot grip shifters. Rather have a thumb shifters. Rear only needed

I have an XT 9 speed that I think will work with the 8 speed. I think that you just need to route the cable a little differently at the derailleur. I know I've done this in the past. Just look it up on the web. Free if you want it.

FWIW I just set up a 10 speed shifter and 9 speed cassette (both Shimano road) using alternate cable routing. Seems to run well in the stand, will see about the real world.
