Winter road cycling bib suggestions?

Been doing some longer road rides 6 or more hours and it's cold in the mornings now! Any suggestions on winter/colder weather bibs? I've been wearing underarmour under my bib shorts or a thin pant over top to stop the wind but looking for a better option.

Any suggestions on winter/colder weather bibs?
To me, these are 2 different bibs. Cooler weather requires some fabric on the legs but not necessarily windstopper. I have a pair of cheap midweight running tights that I bought from target, I wear these over my regular bin shorts. They work pretty well to keep my legs warm in the 50s and 60s, and even a bit lower for cool morning starts that I know will warm up after an hour or 2.

Once the 40s roll in it’s really dependent on the wind and sun. On the warmer side I’ll stick with the running tights. On the cooler side I’ll break out the windstopper bibs. I have a pair of Gore bib tights that I bought close to 15 years ago and they are still functional. I think about replacing them every year, but the amount of choices out there now just leave me to use what I have.

My pair is full windstopper around the entire leg. Newer ones seem to have non-windstopper on the backs of the legs. I’m not sure if this is to benefit the rider or the bottom line. The idea of having ventilation sounds good, but I can see some gusty winds coming from behind making me wish for 360 windstopper.

Just bought another pair of Neopro winter bibs. Warm enough for 35°-55°
Let's face it if it's below freezing I'm staying inside and riding the trainer.

I’d agree with @Red Mosquito here to say that cold weather and winter weather need two different types. It’s also about how well you manage the cold weather and wind chill with whatever else you’re wearing.

For this time of year I can typically manage in my regular bibs with insulated knee warmers and toe/shoe covers down to about 45-50F. If it’s going to be windy and/or no sun then it’s full leg warmers. I also have bib tights with no chamois liner for days were its just chilly and not that cold.

despite being a Pactimo brand ambassador My winter choice is typically my 15 year old Pearl Izumi am/fib tights. They have wind block material all the way up just past the waist and are lined too. Like mentioned above I think about new ones but these work so well still after 1000s of miles I don’t really need to change them.

I would say that pactimo has some decent winter tights/bibs for the price and they are having a sale already so maybe check it out. I have one pair of them and they also do a great job. Due to the sale I can’t offer my ambassador discount code this month.

Riding in the cold is typically a lot of trial and error it took me a while to get the combinations right depending on the day.

Hope that helps a bit.
