DEAD DEER PXL_20210222_122500419-01.jpg

Getting back to Max's "Circle of Life" theme above, I saw a dead opossum on some double track yesterday, but my experience is that they are one of the worst smelling dead rodents, so I pedaled on.

Instead we have Bambi on a fire road, above from 7:14am February 22, 2021 after a couple of weeks of deep, recurring snow and cold weather. It was about 25 degrees that morning and Bambi wasn't there the previous afternoon.

I thought that the weather might have contributed to death, but the next day a friend of mine said that his dog broke after a herd across the valley a mile west of here the day before and was gone for 45 minutes after some screechy distress noises, so maybe...? My somewhat uninformed guess is that the coyote, fox(?) and turkey vultures provided the cleanup.
