Wierd reaction to epinephrine due to allergic reaction.

Next off the Island.
I've been on an allergy shot maintenance program for allergies.
This means I've been getting the same monthly dosege for my allergies for the last year (sadly trees, ragweed, pollen and mold).

Yesterday, my body revolted and I had a severve reaction to my shots aprox 45 mins later. (The drs make you wait 30 mins normally). Went back to the allergist, got shot up with epinephrine, and drank some liquid steroids. 15 mins later, nothing happened. My dr was like wtf? Your blood pressure went down since you came in and your pulse is normal. Your body's not reacting to the adrenaline.

Another epinephrine shot, a small, and another big of shot steroid my swelling started to go down. My pulse and bp finally increased from the shots ( 85 bpm and 138/80).

Has this been anyone elses experience? The dr was confused by my lack of reaction to the epinephrine?
BTW, my dr says hes gets a bad reaction maybe once a yr.

I don't drink nor drug, but i do consume greater than average coffee consumption. My only thought was that i was in better cardiovascular shape than the avg person my age.

If you have some form of adrenal insufficiency, I suppose that could result in a less than expected reaction to epi. I would say that's further solidified by your stating that you eventually responded appropriately(?) with the administration of a steroid. Obviously, concern for something cardiovascular related has to be part of a differential. A HR of 85 and normotensive BP after everything you got is not typical in my experience, so you definitely need to follow-up with a cardiologist and endocrinologist IMO

I will follow up with my GP.

My heart rate finally did increase after the 2nd shot, it remained 95 -100 the rest of the night per my fitbit watch.

Heres my graph. I got my 2nd shot around 5

Usually have other underlying health issues if you are receiving allergy shots. Just food for thought.

*sauce: I also receive allergy shots, and am immunocompromised, among other things...
