That must’ve been a great testing! Although it’s hard to make out all the labels I really enjy the Booker & Schrader wines. I realize everyone’s palate is different but I’m curious which wines stood out to you.

the brown one in the middle :)

Really hard to pick a favorite because this was not a comparative tasting. We took customers to Park City to visit HW and we drank 4 bttls each over several days:
  • Schrader RBS v18
  • Booker Fracture v17, Oublie v17 and My Favorite Neighbor v18
  • Mondavi Oakville Cab Franc v17
  • U Cesari Liano v18
  • Vinosia Rajamara Turasi Reserve, v13
  • Viberti LaGemella Rose, v20
  • Fouassier Les Grandes Champs v18
- RBS was fantastic - I can only imagine what it will taste like with real time in the bttl
- Fracture Syrah hands down favorite. Eric Jensen is such a talented winemaker and what he does with Rhone varietals... Oublie (think CdP) and MFN (Cab Sauv) both solid and very different form each other. If you haven't already, check out Harvey & Harriet (BDX blend)
- I love Cab Franc, but these bttls were inconsistent. 1 blew me away, the others were either too vegetal or perfumey
- The Italians were awesome, but need food to really appreciate them
- The Viberti rose - HOLY CRAP, amazing offering from a Barolo producer
- The Fouassiers - My go to summer sippers, but something was off with these. 1 was corked, 2 were maderized and the other was pretty solid

Showing a l’il love for our local wineries. Surprised to see Hopewell had a Barbera. Pretty one dimensional but enjoyable quaff nonetheless.

When it rains, it pours. Wine sometimes.
When professional chef neighbors invite you for dinner, it’s yes please.
Other neighbor is in the spirits business, so it was all pretty good.
In the mix was some Brazilian bubbly.
They were trying to get a market going in NYC when the partners decided the money was better in petroleum.
Left them with a warehouse of it.
It’s now 10 years old, it’s matured snd mellowed nicely, goes with damn near anything.

Wife and I visited Unionville Vineyards over the weekend to try their new port release. A port made from grapes grown in NJ… seriously?? But I have to say we were both blown away by how good this was. Bought a few extra bottles and I’m going to host a blind tasting with some friends putting this up against vintage port as I think this could hang with the big boys.
