What to do with old cycling clothing

What do you do with old cycling clothing? I have decades worth of old cycling clothing as I tend to end up using only what I bought in the past year or two. I never include it with our clothing donations as I figure that's not what the charities are looking for.

Even if I toss all the shorts, I still have plenty of jackets and jerseys, some of which are barely used.

I put old kits in the same bins as my regular donation stuff. Not sure what they do with it but I feel like I did the right thing.
I do the same. I’m sure they toss it though. Hopefully they toss it responsibly?

If you have the time and patience and some of the jackets and jerseys are in like new condition, you’d be surprised what people will pay you. The outerwear sells better but if you put a bundle of “ like New” Jerseys together people will buy.

I sold some older Castelli jackets for around $100 each.

Edit: I have a lot of stuff already- must. Not. Ask. For. Pics.

Apparently... no. And this is one of the "cleaner" pictures I've seen.

Who knows if it's as much of an issue as the internet makes it out to be, but even if it's even a fraction of the problem it's reported to be, it's still an issue.

Personally, I keep clothes forever. I'm still wearing jerseys I bought over 30 years ago. By the time I get ride of shorts, they are DONE.

I've given stuff away for free on various Facebook pages. Sold some of the much nicer stuff on Poshmark. And I've traded in stuff to a used gear place here in Brevard in exchange for store credit.

We put a "free" table out at the spring NJ NICA races and whatever doesn't go, we toss. Most goes. You are welcome to stop by an event and add to it, or link up with your local team to get ahead of it sooner.
