If memory is correct, in 2012 the highest end bike Specialized made was still under 10k.

I feel like 10k was a barrier for awhile. That bikes just under 10k were the halo model that nobody except a few rich weirdos actually bought.

10k now gets you a fork with the 2nd tier damper.

Apparently it’s a FS 29’r with 6” BB height. I can’t stop laughing at these out on the trail.
