Haha, maybe, he just knows what the enduro bros ride and that is what he wants to be.
I have created a monster doe, him riding shit stuff becomes my problem to fix said crap, so I buy him better stuff to avoid that. He has gotten used to shit just appearing on his bike overnight.

Not REEB prep. After peeping the route, Controls, and deciding on time goal, I set the SL7 for the job at hand. Mounted swat bottle with multi-tool and Co2 holder. Made Control cheat sheet. Lubed cleats and chain. Loaded route into Garmin. Good to go for a Record Attempt. I set the record in 2018 at 7:09, then my boss Tom took it by 5 minutes in 2019 to 7:04, so I need to run sub-7...
