Getting back on a hard tail, first iteration, sure I'll do more tweaks

Had this Univega mixte for about 15 years with the intention to spruce it up. Left my threaded headset tools at the beach house so left on fork for the rattle can job. How long should I wait for the paint to dry? Some say 48hrs is enough, others say you need to wait a month. Used the Rust-Oleum 2x enamel.

Hang it in the sun. Heat will speed up full curing time (they bake production stuff).

Check the manufacturers info sheet for your paint.

When I painted my daughter’s bike I “baked” it using a heat gun / bike box set up. Got to be careful! Turned out pretty durable.

Blammo! Too much air trying to seat a DH casing tire, luckily most of sealant hit the garage door and not me and nor the car behind me. I have another tire to use, but the first tire seems to no longer seat and pops out after a few pounds of air. Is the tire shot?

If it's popping off after a few pounds of air, I think that is your answer. Might work with a tube if you still own one of those.

yes, toss it, the tire stretched over the bead in the rim and that was more than the elasticity of the rubber allows, it will never seat in the bead properly since it is now bigger than it was (diameter wise)
