Ooo, I just used my fingers to toss him out. Appears to be leaf footed beetle but the color and proptions seem a bit off

No more mosquitoes but still plenty of bugs. My vet warned us about the new ticks that are much more cold resistant. So keep checking for them

Your vet is full of shit. The ticks here in the north have always been cold resistant, so if the temps aren't below freezing, you can still pickup ticks.

Even if it’s below freezing the ticks still thrive. I read somaething once that if needs to be below freezing for a month straight to do any damage to the tick population. Not happening around here.
