Yes, science indicated that impact contained more wrench, but it was decidedly less refined.
Knowing how the brew staff there works, I expect they heard the feedback and dialed it.
If your first sip wasn’t “WTF?”, that would support my hypothesis.
So, how was that first sip?

Nah, first sip was more like “fuck, yeah”... must have got this batch dialed, smooth and tasty. Would love to donate a can for science, but...well you know.
