New Venue!
The NYSMTB Series is proud to announce the addition of a new race at a brand new venue!

Who will be crowned the undisputed world champion of backyard mountain bike racing? Somebody is going to leave with the belt!

The West Hurley Burly features a brand new 3+ mile course nearly a year in the making. Consisting 90% of hand-crafted singletrack, and incorporating the very latest in passing zone technology, this is a rider’s course… all killer, no filler!

As expected from an NYSMTB Series race, this will be a top shelf event, featuring:

•electronic scoring
•ample paved parking
•an MC calling the event & spinning tunes
•food vendor on site

…And all of that sweet, twisty singletrack

Cash for Cat 1 and Pro/Semi Pro riders! Cat 2&3 riders get medals with a prize blow out at the finals on 9/8/12 in September!!!

The race will be staged right on Rt 28 west just a few minutes from exit 19 on the NYS thruway. More complete directions will be made available before the event for pre-riding.

Registration is limited to 200 riders this year. Don’t miss out!

I was lucky enough to get a preview of the course, its a classic Catskill race. Twisty twists, punchy ups, and a sweet quarry to roll through. Besides the course being top notch, its a NY State race, so ya know its going to be good. Hippy Town Beat Down!

I was lucky enough to get a preview and it is really cool a'la Williams Lake type stuff. No cave but some cool shale features ... and a real wall ride! :D

Anybody know if it is a hilly course, techy course, cranker course, etc. Trying to figure single speed gearing - Thanks!

One switchbacked climb, not sure if its still in or not. Rest is like koolaid said. Couple punchy climbs, tight, twisty singletrack.

Guava hit a home run with this race! Almost non stop tech, short laps, Catskill vibe, music and great food. Scoring was just about real time. If you've never done a NYS race, you owe it to yourself to take the hike up there. Ran into Kirt and a few other Jersey boys.

Congrats to Jeremy, Corey, Mark and everyone else that worked to pull this off. Huge thanks to the landlord who allowed a course to be hacked through his backyard and then having a couple hundred people hanging around all day.
