I'm hearing some disturbing things about this whole "prologue" deal.

Is it true that they have simply taken out a lap, and added miles of pavement and fireroad to create the Cat 1 distance?

Yes, a mile of pavement to start, but once you enter the woods, it is mostly doubletrack with mildly technical and rocky features, some of which are single track wide. I would not call it all road. It seems to have a mix to balance out with Hemlock, White Dot and Sitting Bear.

Pixy- how technical is the Cat 2 course? WayWay can be either and I don't know the trails well enough to tell from the map.

I would rate it similar to Blue in technical challenge, and slightly less technical than Jungle.

Confirmed for a 10 start tomorrow, meeting at the parking lot north of the wayaway lake.

Moskown - know not your preferred time - let me know if you can make the earlier start.

A MILE of pavement? Why would they do that when they have endless possibilities at Waway? This addition is only for cat 1. The course should get harder, not easier to "balance out" the singletrack. This is going to be especially disapointing to the SSers.

I agree, I think cat 1/ Pro should be doing 2 of the long laps

would love to do it, I have a cracked rib from a high speed wipe out 6 mile. I am going to hike it on Sunday, any taker.

Just back from the pre ride with Chris. (Cat 2.)Course conditions were great. Handful of muddy areas but vast majority have a rock path next to them. Course is a thing of 2 halves - first half -(apart from the odditty of riding down or next to a road for half a mile...) is fast - pretty strightfoward / fairly hilly Single/Double track. Second half has some buggers of climbs - short but steep/rocky and extended rock gardens. Glad the field will be stretched out by then... Take my hat off to Chris on his SS for clearing pretty much all of them.

7AM Boat Launch?

I had hoped to get out later, but my better half has other plans for me. Saturday 7-10AM, cat 1 lap, and other trails (assuming I get my bike back from the shop tonight - very likely).

Any early risers out there?

CAT 1 prologue + 2 laps?

Can't tell from their FB posting but looks like CAT 1 is doing 1 lap with a prologue on the road, plus another lap without the prologue. Or is it just the prologue and the one longer lap?
