There are some upcoming projects that will be happening in the park this fall.
First off the NYNJTC has been working with the park on the planning of a boardwalk bridge over the flood prone rock bridge section of the Pumphouse trail. It was decided to build this instead of continually re-building the rock bridge which always falls apart due to the traffic in that area. From the information provided this is a 64' long boardwalk section and will be bike friendly meaning no steps, will have curbing but no railings. The current scheduled dates for this work are 10/1, 10/8 and 10/22. Meeting location to be determined. This will be updated here as this information is provided.
The second project will be a new trail connector from the bottom of Tombstone to the top of Timber. This will be a project lead by the JORBA Chapter at the park. The timing of this is net yet determined as we have to adhere to a few rules on vegetation cutting we need to follow. More information to be posted here and on the JORBA chapter site.
Any help with these project will be appreciated and both organizations, the NYNJTC and JORBA appreciate the help.
