Is there any NJ/JORBA specific initiative that you're aware of ( @Bleeder , @KenS ) ?
From what I hear MTB happens to be of great help for those suffering from PTSD (not only veterans) that pigeon hole themselves into isolation.
In my direct experience the MTB community has been very inclusive, so why not include those that served the country and paid a price for it?
