USA to send 2 women to Beijing

Hi - I'm not a female nor do I check this forum very often, but I read today that the US gets to send 2 female riders to Beijing this year as opposed to the one rider we sent in '04, and thought you'd all find it interesting. Anyone who saw Off Road to Athens knows it was fairly awful that only one US woman was allowed to compete in '04, so it's good to see 2 women getting to go this time around. (I'm not sure of the criteria, but I'd think Georgia Gould and Willow Koerber would go -- an amazing year for Mary and all the other US ladies as well though!)

On the men's side, the US fell just shy of being able to send 3 men. They will send 2 as well.

There's still far fewer total MTB women competing than men though. 26 women will race as opposed to 42 men.
