As part of our NC mountains rafting trip, I decided to show Alejandro more of the old NC trails. This time Tsali. Tsali is split in half, with bikers and horses alternating uses of each half every other day. Had to re-arrange the rafting to get the half I wanted (right & left loops; https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/3607752/tsali-left-and-right-loops-imba-epic).
It is advertised as 24+ miles but I think that requires coming back to the parking lot and heading out again. We did the outside and got 16mi (my Strava flew over the first 6mi so here is Alejandro's ride https://www.strava.com/activities/2564475154). The first 6-7 miles (going counter-clockwise) are Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde... you get half a mile of Nox followed by 200yards or RV, over and over. I blew up on the 3rd climb; Alejandro wanted to go back after the Right Loop. Fortunately the Left Loop is milder so we survived.
When you are not climbing "walls", it is a nice flowy trail
with lake views everywhere
after the ride, a Tsali tradition, the bike hose-down
oh, BTW, I saw a few of these bike shops; welcome to Western NC.
