Dear Trek Consumer, SAFETY RECALL NOTICE Thank you for your recent purchase of a Trek Farley. Our records indicate you purchased one of the following models: • 2014 Farley • 2014 Farley frameset • 2015 Farley 6 • 2015 Farley 6 frameset A small number of these bicycles were made with a fork that was assembled incorrectly. An incorrectly assembled fork could come out of alignment with the handlebar, which could allow the front wheel to turn unexpectedly and cause you to fall. If this happens, you could be involved in a serious accident. Your safety is very important to us. Therefore, Trek will replace the fork on an affected bicycle, free of charge. This letter contains important information regarding what to do next if you think you may have purchased one of these bicycles or framesets. AFFECTED MODELS Figure 1. Fork of the bicycle Only specific bicycles from model years 2014 and 2015 are affected. The following page shows you how to identify the affected models. DO NOT RIDE YOUR BICYCLE UNTIL THE FORK HAS BEEN INSPECTED If the front wheel turns unexpectedly, you could be involved in a serious accident. Do not ride this bicycle until your dealer has inspected the fork to determine if it is affected by this recall. WHAT TREK WILL DO FOR OWNERS OF A RECALLED BICYCLE If you own a bicycle that is affected by this recall, Trek will provide you—through your Trek dealer—a free replacement of the fork on your bicycle in a matching color, including free installation. In addition, when your recalled bike has been repaired, Trek will give you a coupon worth $100 in your choice of Trek products. If you have any questions, please contact your Trek retailer. THANK YOU FOR BUYING A TREK BICYCLE We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this problem might have caused you. We value you as a customer and want you to enjoy your Trek bicycle. We hope that after your Trek bicycle is repaired, you will continue to safely enjoy cycling. This letter was prepared in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. If you have questions about the information in this letter, please contact your Trek retailer.

That seems like a pretty good way to handle it on Trek's part. Replace for free with new fork and $100.

Trek seems to be a pretty stand up company.
Didn't they do the recall with the front QR's a few years ago even though some of the affected bikes were quite old?
