Trails near Fair Lawn/Paramus

Anyone know of any trails super close to the Fair Lawn/Paramus area? Not looking for anything crazy, just something to ride in the evenings after work. Ringwood is the only one I can think of. Thanks!

Mills. But all Essex parks are technically off limits to bikes.

The West Essex rail trail (WET) that runs between Little Falls to Verona is legal. There are several trail nooks along the way that you can hit.

Don't come to Essex County to tourist ride backyard illegal trails. If you are going to get in a car you may as well go to a legit park where it is legal to ride.

How is High Mountain? From what I have read it is very easy to get lost.

I don’t think alpine is even technically legal to ride.

High mountain is probably your best bet for the closest park. If you haven’t been there, it’s a solid spot. Obviously you know ringwood. Sterling is just a little past ringwood over the state line. And jungle and wayway to the west of ringwood.

High mountain is fun. There are a lot of intersecting trails, so it can be a little difficult to navigate. I suggest using the Trailforks app as the map is on there.

Bikes are not allowed "off road" in any Essex County parks. And they are only allowed on a few paved surfaces in some county parks but most paved roads are even off limits to bikes. There are much better legit trail systems if you are going to use a car to get to the trails.

Good place to ride. Just stay off the colored trails... altho i still like them to bomb descents.. but those loose rocks can do a number on your downtube.
