Anyone else riding in the Tour de Tinicum? So far I know of myself, M3Tim and "Frank the Food Scientist". I'm always up for some Bucks county riding. See info below.

Towpath/Family Tour: Nice and flat. See a covered bridge, the Delaware Canal, historic homes and Tinicum Park; 4 to 11 miles

Classic Tinicum Tour: This tour misses the hills, but has the thrill of riding quiet roads among Bucks County`s most bueatiful senery. For cyclist of all skills; 30 miles

Mixed Road Tour: Ride the canal towpath, visit the township park, scale a challenging hill, and see historic homes and farms. For intermediate riders; 24 miles

The Hills of Tinicum: Many hills and climbs amid lush ravines, and along sparkling brooks. Designed by Bruce DeChillo for expert riders; 45 miles

Endurance Tour: This tour is 56.6 miles of hills and valleys, with spectacular woodlands and lovely farmlands. For expert riders.

Metric Century: This 100 kilometer/62.4 mile ride passes through NJ and Bucks County. For expert riders, it is our most challenging ride.

Looks fun. I'll keep it in mind..

Tinicum Ride

The Wife, Kids and I have done the on-off road 24 mile ride several times. They route you through a couple of streams early on so you can ride with water in your shoes for 20 miles or so. The route changes (except for the streams) every year. The last ride we did they threw in a road that went up hill for about 2 miles then immediately down hill on the next road (Losing all of that wonderful elevation :D) You travel up and down the hills for a while then they bring you down a pretty steep dirt and gravel road that follows a beautiful stream and dumps you on to the tow path for a wind down before hitting the chow

Make sure your brakes are in good condition. You will need them

It's for a good cause and they feed you well after the ride Try It!
