Tool to Torque Center-Lock Brake Rotors

Which tool do I need to torque center-lock brake rotors? Specifically for the rear? The rear wheel is boost spacing 12x148 if it makes a difference.

I bought the Park Tool BBT-69.3 but it does not work out. The side cap/spacer of the hub is too tall and the teeth of the BBT-69.3 does not reach the center-lock ring.

I know the tool below will work, but I am unable to apply (measured) torque on the rotor. Unless, maybe, it is not essential to torque the rotor(s)?

I've never torqued CL brake rotors on any bike, road or MTB. I like to tell myself that I've gained a feel for ballparks of nM, but I'm sure one day that will be proven false.

before that i seem to remember having mtb centerlock wheels that used a cassette tool but that was a long time ago and my memory . . . . . wait what was i saying?

I've never torqued them to any kind of spec, but the centerlocks I've had in the past was BB tool front, cassette tool rear from what I remember.

iv used channel locks in a pinch

OP, just re read your post, if the endcap is hitting the tool before it engages the lockring just pull the endcap off, they usually are just held in by friction or an o-ring

OP, just re read your post, if the endcap is hitting the tool before it engages the lockring just pull the endcap off, they usually are just held in by friction or an o-ring

iv had cassettes work loose and f up my shifting so now I torque the lockrings.

well this surprising, pretty sure mine all pop off without removing the disc, you have a buddy with a machine shop could turn the recess in the center big enough to clear the cap?

I just placed an order for the BBT-9.

I wanted to have it torqued to a spec because I break / strip parts frequently. I guess this time around I won't put my back into it. 🤣

this is common, humans are absolutely HORRIBLE at estimating torque or force applied without measurement tools

you could get yourself one of these and figure out how much you need to reduce the torque setting on your wrench (sort of like a crows foot)
