Downsizing. Multi use methods. Redundant straps. Sharing the load with others in your group. Etc…..
Post up.

My best tip is to buy fast drying modern fabric clothes. I bring a little laundry detergent and wash in the sink after I use them. This allows me to bring half of the shirts, socks and workout clothes that I would need for the trip.

Another trick, newer suitcases can be just as strong for less weight. Last year my wife and I picked up some new full sized bags that were 5lbs lighter than our old bags.
Btw, carryon bag standards are changing this year….. they are supposed to enforce them more as well.

Here ya go. Elastic cord tied to-about an inch - inch and half loop. Keep on your handlebars to engage front brake when off of the loaded bike so it doesn’t roll away. So annoying without it.
I re-use these from my old altras

Cut to length and re use the bottom cap.
