Go green sleeve retainer, the bolt will break firstgo red or go home!
i may have some purple in the basement.
Black zip-ties fix anything.

DT Swiss thru axle, screw those cam locks. Find one in the proper size you need

just had a thought - i've broken pawls in two different hubs on this bike. One with only 60 hours on it.
perhaps riding around with an axle loose was a contributor?
The shifting will go to sh*t, and the chain starts skipping, but there is that little bit of time....

If the freehub is only retained by the end cap, then yes.
end cap is screwed to the axle sleeve/housing (is that the right term?)
it isn't one where i can just grab and pull off the freehub body.
