Mostly it's just me alone. I think that is somewhat key to being comfortable.

I'm alone all day, except when the cat wanders in and yells at me because he's bored. I'm just tired of being home by myself, and I've been finding myself having a hard time concentrating recently. Different strokes or something like that. At least I'm back on the coffee.

so say fred had 3 urinals. (not counting dirty employee bathrooms)
by not using water to flush (they still clean them) that saves up2 135,000 gal/yr (claimed)
there are 365 days in a year, they are closed on sunday and a couple other random days, so say 310.
On average, they save 435 gal per open day. just happens that the epa claims 1.0 gal per flush on public urinal -

quick fred search says they are open about 11 hours per day.
that is 40 pees per hour or about 13 per urinal per hour.

if they had 40 people (incl sales people) taking a leak each hour, 6 days per week, i think they'd be doing ok.

maybe we could collect some empirical data..

The key phrase in the claim is "up to". Legally, that means any value from 1 to 45000 gal. I think they are ok!

Alone in office. Never alone at home.

Back when I was at home solo all day every day I traveled all over the country a bunch. It kinda worked though I don’t wish for that again. Planes are tiring.

Not sure how alone at home would go now, other than the dog staring at me like a clown all day every day.

I do think change is necessary to not go insane. I’d just prefer it not to come in the form of global pandemics. I may change my mind if we start getting pelted with space debris.

Do you guys have offices at home or do you just setup wherever?
During the summer of lockdown in 2020 it forced me to clean out 30 years of crap in the unfinished basement and now I have a nice corner desk and 27” monitor set up as my WFH space. It’s better than I thought because I’m not wandering around the house with just laptop anymore and aside from having to run the space heater when it’s 95F outside because of the central AC I’m good.

So today I was happy to see that some form of humanity is still present.

I stopped at the coffee potter in Long Valley for a bottle of water and ended up getting a stroopwaffle and quickly just grabbed $5 from my saddle bag (yes old school I keep cash with me ).

Since I overpaid for those items I threw the change in the tip cup and went back outside and quickly got back on the trail. About .3 miles later I realized I didn’t zip the saddle bag closed and the rest of my cash was missing.

Quickly pedaled back and was circling the parking lot and a lady calls out to me if I was Looking for some money she just turned it into the staff inside.

Went and got it and came back out and tried to offer her a reward to pay for her and the 3 little girls drinks they had but she emphatically refused and I can be quite persuasive.

Pedaled away and was relieved to have my $27 bucks back but really thankful she did that. Good example for those kids too to see some kindness in the world for a change.

Teaching my nephew the coolness of mountain biking at 6 mile. First time on any trail as he normally just rides around in his cul-de-sac. Just did the field of off Canal and back around for a handful of laps. He had a blast and can't wait to do it again!
