Cracked my windshield on the way back from a site visit for work yesterday. Heard the rock but didn't see an immediate split so figured I got out alive.

Nice 12" crack this morning that definitely is too high for me to ignore for long. Blah. Bye $500.

Guess I can move this to the things that make you smile thread, my company is covering the windshield replacement!

I know the place you ordered from, is it Larry’s? They show everything “in stock”, but order everything from quality or whatever distributor. They print the shipping label quickly and then wait for the item to arrive before it actually ships. I live 10 min from there and it takes a week + also.
Good old Larry back at it again, tracking number for missing items from earlier shipment has been on pre-shipping for 6 days now...

@rick81721 has been kinda quiet on the board lately - did he fly cross-country?

All kidding aside this stuff sucks for everyone involved and draws too much negative publicity.

Mtb/hiker confrontation bums me out big time. I spend equal time in the saddle or on my feet on the trails. Plenty of space for all users.

RIP Craftsman Snowblower. 😡
After 30+ years of service to me and 57 total, the motor grenaded in spectacular fashion today. Spins but no compression whatsoever, probably piston. Can't decide if it's worth trying to stick a Harbor Freight motor on it.
I keep meaning to post this: It Lives! Got the Harbor Freight motor from my brother, bolted up with minimal modifications.

Safety features??? We don't need no stinkin' safety features.

Going on Day 3 the wife is out of commission with sudden onset of severe back/leg/ sciatica type pain to the point she can’t walk, lay down or sit comfortably. Or do anything really.

Went to urgent care Tuesday it was that bad then to the GP who ordered the X-rays. Urgent care prescribed some painkillers and muscle relaxers but not helping
That much. Tried the chiropractor a few times but no relief. Orthopedic specialist appointment tmw morning. Expect to go for MRI as well.

Hoping he sees something obvious or can provide something to ease the pain.

My online research and experiences with my own back issues point to some kind of herniated disc and nerve issue but remains to be seen.

makes riding a bike seem really unimportant right now despite the nice weather.

Lay on back with pillows under the legs, keeping up at 90 degrees. Use those big heavy duty ice packs like PT has. Alternate with heating pads. I took 800 mg motrin 3x day. Added maxed dosage of tylenol sometimes. Avoided the RX pain stuff. They'll try oral steroids 1st, then epidural. Last resort surgery. Mine almost 3 years ago. Some have and totally recover in a few months. My injury/surgery have me with the Humpty Dumpty diagnosis. So sorry and hope she gets better soon!

Thanks we have tried every position (phrasing!!) to make her comfortable but she can only lay on her side with pillows between the knees for now.

When this happened back in Early feb they gave her steroids which seemed to help more than whatever anti inflammatory they gave her this time.

Ice seems to make things lock up more right now but the heating pad helps a little.

I hope doc can find a better way to reduce the pain short term right now this is not sustainable.

Thanks again for the advice.

So sorry. Beware the Dr that insists starting PT right away. Truly believe this is what did me in for good.
