What ever happened to the 3 Parking Spot manual contest? Did I miss it? @stb222

I extended @qclabrat deadline and he never bit. I'll re-extend the offer.

Hot afternoon ride at Ringwood, then came home and grilled the Sunday family feast.

I’m no @jimvreeland but I have wanted to try to do a 200K this season and I was bummed when the NJ rando official ones were all canceled.

I have been planning this for a while and training for it with my long weekend rides. So for my Bday today I got this done.

this is my longest distanc first solo century and first 200k all in one.

how people can do this consistently is amazing and I’m just happy to get this one done. I learned a lot and what went well and what didn’t go so well but I managed to finish what I started.not sure I will try that again soon at least not solo.

. I have a ton of pics but here’s a few highlights.

I suggested going for a walk around the lake after dinner last night, and my wife surprised me by suggesting we ride bikes instead. It's been roughly a year since she was last on it, so I dragged it out of the basement, brushed off the cobwebs, and inflated the tires. We went for a cruise around the neighborhood and some local schools, and then we made it about halfway around the lake before detouring off toward the corporate campuses to get away from the mobs of people. Killer evening!

That’s a lot of stairs to climb. Just saying. Did you make it all the way up?

Still coming up with things to do in COVID-world. A friend of a riding buddy found this '84ish Schwinn LeTour set out as trash. It's a 22, I thought it might fit me, and noone else wanted it so I ran up to Basking Ridge and grabbed it. On seeing it for the first time, it looked like junk and I regretted wasting my time, but took it anyway to avoid wasting his time. Then I got it home and started cleaning it off...

It was filthy but if this bike has more than 250 miles on it, I'd be surprised. Barely a speck of grease/dirt on the chainrings and cassette. Original looking Schwinn-branded "Super Record" clinchers. I'm guessing it was a mid-range LeTour back in the day. Sugino ARX derailleurs, Diacompe 500 brakes, and Weinmann rims with double-butted spokes. Rear cassette is 6sp 30-14. It has a bracket for a kickstand. A sticker on the frame says 'Made in America', 4130 Cro-mo stays, and double butted main tubes. Sold by Whippany Cycle way back when.

It's way too small but I've been amusing myself cleaning and polishing it. The decals are in crappy shape but the paint looks really good.
