Moody Trails in Claremont, NH. This was the closest spot of interest to our campground. We set off at 4:30am-ish from Mays Landing packin' 4x family and a 85lb special-needs golden. We usually leave later and deal with traffic, etc. but driving north is something I'm too familiar with to deal with that.
We were fully set up at Tree Farm Campground in Springfield, VT by 1pm and grilling lunch. Most of us took a nap after lunch. I watched some Olympics, rode around the camp to get the lay of the land, then headed to Moody which was less than 20 mins away.
No pic of camp in daylight, so here's our local jersey devils doing touch and go's yesterday while I was driving home from dropping off a metric shiiton of trash at the ACUA dump:
Moody was small, as expected, and some stuff was wet, which sucked. I had to walk a few sections to not leave trace, and soon realized that at a certain elevation everything was finest-kind. The most fun trail was "Gravity Cavity" which is a ridiculous fall-line descent fully paved with x-type block that G's out over a bridge then ascends the same type block with a fun rolling sender. Hard to explain but crazy 30+ mph no brakes fun if you dare.
Tomorrow is Flow State Fest at Ascutney. I'm really looking forward to seeing friends, getting my son on a trail bike demo or two, and riding some old favs. Also super stoked to close out 31/31 with
