Super Bowl

even as a die hard Giants fan, i am not too happy about this. The Giants and Jets owners should be punished for spending billions on a stadium, and not putting a dome on it! that just grinds my gears...

I completely disagree. Football should never be played indoors. That being said the coldest I've ever been in my life was at a football game in Giants stadium. Freezing rain in the middle of December. Snow would've been better.

Maybe I'm missing something here.
Besides using the Giants training and practice facilities, if the Giants aren't in the Super Bowl, how will this affect them? Are they charging the teams for the use of the stadium? Did the Tampa Bay Bucs, Miami Dolphins, and Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers (among others) field better teams the following year because Super Bowls in the past were held in their stadiums?

totally disagree. Football is meant to played in the elements. What grinds my gears are these pansy ass dome teams with all speed and no football toughness breezing though the playoffs and not having to play 1 game outside in the cold, snow, rain, etc. I have Jets season tickets and I pay to sit though horrible weather to watch a game...AND LOVE IT. (maybe because i'm trashed...and full of gourmet tailgate food..??:hmmm::hmmm🙂

Maybe im a little bitter, but the AFC championship game would have been a little closer had it been played outside.

At least we're guaranteed a playoff victory there for once.🙄

I think it's pretty cool that the Super bowl will be played there. I hope it snows, the championship game should be played in REAL football weather.

Don't get me wrong, football in the "elements" is great. But the Giants / Jets reasoning behind not constructing a dome is a crock. They use the weather to their advantage? I don't think so.

Besides, the stadium is used for more than just football. I just think it would be nice to have the option of the dome. Gives you some freedom.

The Giants were always a smash-mouth, run first and play good defense kind of a team. That leans towards a dome.
The Jets are trying to become that kind of football team.

I'm not saying that's a major reason why they left off a dome, but its something that would definitely influence the current ownership. And actually they claim they didn't put on a dome primarily because of the extra $ it would have cost.

But you have the right to your own opinion, so we can agree to disagree.

I hope it snows 3 feet. No chance it comes back because snow or not, these boot wearing fairies will whine all year about it after the fact.

So make it epic and drop a 3 footer on this thing.

i absolutely agree norm. the superbowl is NOT about football...it hasn't been in years. it's about marketing and selling stuff. there won't be another outdoor superbowl after this one b/c the pansy ass suits won't deal with it. i bet columbia or the northface have already started trying to ink a deal as the official "winter weather gear" provider.

Im not a sports guy, but I think this is F'n great. Let these overpaid bitches play the way the game should be played.

PS, please ignore all the large Pepsi signs😀
